Position Opening Announcement:                       Grounds, Maintenance, Custodial Floater

                                                                       8 hr/day, 5 days per week, 240 Day/Yr

                                                                      (Work hours – 9:30 a.m.. to 6:00 p.m.-includes 30 minute  unpaid lunch)

                                                                      2024-25 school year, position is available immediately

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:  Position involves supporting the District’s Grounds, Maintenance and Custodial Department.  Perform a variety of duties in assisting with the upkeep of the District’s facilities, equipment and grounds.  This position reports to the Director of Maintenance and Facilities.  This position is subject to the SEIU Collective Bargaining Agreement.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • General equipment maintenance and grounds up-keep.
  • General custodial duties.
  • Assisting groundskeeper with, but not limited to, mowing, weed eating, raking, edging, trimming and striping.
  • Minor maintenance tasks including but not limited to, sink and toilet repair, furniture repair, hanging of pictures and wall items, plug and outlet repair/replacement, door maintenance, light bulb and ballast replacement, minor equipment repair such as vacuum brush, belt and motor replacement, install projector and mount.
  • Use District vehicles to transport products, equipment, furniture, books, surplus, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good health, both mental and physical.
  • Good attendance is essential.
  • Possess the physical capabilities to perform the job; including lifting of supplies in excess of 40 pounds and maneuvering equipment loaded with food or supplies.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all district employees.
  • Neat in appearance and appropriately attired at all times.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Required to have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to learn new procedures and techniques.
  • Experience in grounds-keeping to perform daily work.
  • Experience in using grounds-keeping equipment.
  • Experience in custodial work and custodial equipment.
  • Experience in building maintenance.

 

Salary Range:  2024-25 Salary Range $26.60 - $32.72 per hour, depends on school district experience, and in accordance with the SEIU bargaining agreement

 

BENEFITS:

Benefits include Sick Leave, Vacation Leave, Family Sick Leave, Bereavement Leave, Medical, Dental, Vision, AD&D, and Basic Life insurance coverages. Retirement is through the WA State Department of Retirement, plans available: SERS Plan 2 or SERS Plan 3.
